2012 IAP2 International Core Values Awards Announced

This just in via email from IAP2:

It’s time once again to flex your professional muscles for the entire world to see!

The Call for Submissions is now open for the 2012 IAP2 International Core Values Awards.

For the 2012 Core Values Awards, there are three categories for submissions:

  • The Project of the Year award recognizes excellence in the tools, techniques and efforts in public participation within a finite framework.
  • The Organization of the Year award recognizes the application of the core values in all aspects of an organization and how they are embedded into decision-making that features public participation.
  • Research Award. Research is critically important to IAP2 and its members if we are to understand and overcome challenges in everyday public participation and build upon P2 theory and practice.The Research Award acknowldges important contributions to the body of public participation knowledge.

Submissions will be accepted until June 30th 2012. Entries must be received by email (in either Adobe PDF or MS Word formats) to Moira Deslandes, moira@iap2.org by midnight local time Adelaide, South Australia. Winners will be notified in August.

As always, we are happy to accept entries of the same project in multiple award categories. We do require you to make separate submissions for each category you wish to enter, and that each entry clearly addresses the requirements of the category as outlined in the style guide.

Information Sessions
Webinars are scheduled for the beginning of June to review the requirements with anyone interested in submitting for an Award. There are two sessions offered:

Session #1: Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 10 AM Atlantic Daylight Time (13:00 UTC/GMT)
Session #2: Thursday, June 7, 2012, 11:30 AM Australia Central Standard Time (02:00 UTC/GMT)

Please register your intention to participate in Webinar #1 or #2 by sending an email to training@iap2.org. You will then receive the Webinar Invitation with login details.

The awards will be announced at the 2012 North American IAP2 Conference, and recipients will be able to select an event for them to be acknowledged by their peers.
