IAP2 Southwestern & Central Ontario Meet & Greet: November, 24 in Oakville, ON (Canada)

Just like the US, our neighbors in the North are currently in the process of forming a national organization that will join the new IAP2 Federation of Affiliates. We’re hearing they are only a little bit behind us and on track to launching in mid-2011.

If you happen to be near Toronto, maybe you can join the inaugural Ontario chapter meeting:

IAP2 Southwestern & Central Ontario Meet & Greet
November 24, 2010
5pm Eastern
Milestones Restaurant
3529 Wyecroft Rd
Oakville, ON L6L CA

See the event page on LinkedIn to RSVP.

From the invite:

An event that seeks to launch a local chapter of the International Association of Public Participation – or IAP2.

We believe initiating a local IAP2 will be a lot of fun – and a great chance to interact with professionals who have similar interests. […]

Over the past year many public participation professionals have been discussing the possibility of establishing a local IAP2 chapter in southern Ontario. To further explore this interest, we are pleased to invite you to our kick-off event on Wednesday, November 24, 2010.

Topics of discussions will include: What is IAP2 and how will I benefit? Why will a local IAP2 chapter help us as professionals? What upcoming IAP2 events can I participate in locally?

Additionally, we are pleased that Don Richardson, AECOM Lead Consultant – Communications and Consultation, will be on-hand to speak about his varied overseas experiences. Don will provide a light-hearted look at how he has engaged people in exciting and controversial projects from all over the world.

Looks promising. Maybe someone from the US can attend as our ambassador.
