Transition team 09/23 conference call summary
On our call today, we discussed several elements of the affiliate application we are working to submit to the International board.
A draft of the bylaws has been submitted to an attorney for legal review as well as to respond to numerous questions that have been raised by the transition team. There was discussion about how the transition team can continue to review and comment on the bylaws – after attorney review, they will be posted on the wiki and will also be shared with Chapter leads.
Schedule for submission of affiliate application
After discussion, the group proposed that the schedule be:
- October 13 – receive content from all committees working on the affiliate application
- October 20 – Circulate a draft application to the transition team for review
- November 4 – Transition team approves application and forwards to IAP2
Technology & community committee
This committee has developed online communication sites for the transition team and to US members. They have established an interim website for a US Affiliate (this blog) and a schedule to send e-mails to all US members regarding the transition process.
The committee is proposing a tiered membership structure for US members – could include professional, associate, student and welcome back to expired members. Also could include corporate members and lifetime members.
There are a couple options for establishing a bank account using existing banks that chapters are using – the committee is also contacting CPA services about filing documents with the IRS and other requirements.
The committee was asked to investigate board and officers’ liability insurance.
